8.4 Radar: Status bar
The status bar is shown at the top of all the Radar screens. Use it
to quickly check the:
Radar range
the spacing value between the range rings
Radar orientation (Head Up, North Up, Course Up)
motion mode (True Motion, Relative Motion)
Radar status (Off, Transmit, Standby)
the range and bearing from the cursor position OR the Lat/Long
if a GPS position is available (select the currently displayed
item in the status bar to switch to the other item)
Any changes that you make to these settings are immediately
shown in the status bar.
8.5 Radar: Operating modes -
Start/Stop/Standby

To set the operating mode:
Select Pages then Radar.
The
Radar Mode button shows the current operating mode.
Select it to change the setting. There are three choices:
Transmit - if the radar was in Standby mode, it will
start transmitting immediately. If the radar was
Off there is
a pause of 90 - 180 seconds while it warms ups before it
starts transmitting.
The radar continues to transmit until you change the
operating mode to
Standby or Off.
Standby - this stops transmission but keeps the Radar
ready to transmit again.
Off This saves on power consumption, but you must turn
the
Radar on then wait for it to warm up before you can use
it again.
8.6 Radar: Orientation - Head Up/North
Up/Course Up
The Radar orientation is shown in the status bar at the top of your
Radar screen. You can change the orientation of your Radar screen
ONLY when the radar is transmitting.
