Operating Instructions Operator Manual 056404-443
2) When table is turned OFF, control system stores orientation status. Before any new positioning is attempted,
ensure table patient configuration is correct.
3) The head rest is manually adjusted and is not affected by Reverse Orientation button operation.
4) FLEX and REFLEX functions are NOT available for patient safety.
5) When operating in REVERSE ORIENTATION, LEVEL function does NOT operate.
6) The hand control automatically deactivates upon non-use after 30 minutes if floor locks are released and
10-hours when floor locks are engaged. The hand control is reactivated by depressing ANY button other
than STOP.
5.8 Optional Foot Control Operation
The table can be operated using the optional foot control which allows operator to control HEIGHT, TREND and
TILT movements. It is important to note that when using the hand control and optional foot control at the same
time, the hand control has priority. Also, if the hand control STOP button is pressed, foot control also switches
OFF. To operate the foot control:
1. Press and release any positioning pedal (on the foot control) to switch table control ON.
NOTE: If the hand control is also attached, PEDAL ON appears on the LCD Display message window.
2. Operate HEIGHT, TREND and TILT pedals as needed.
3. After unplugging foot control from table, put the protective cover over the connector.
5.9 Backup (Override) Control System
The table is equipped with an auxiliary control system which can be actuated at any time. This feature allows the
table to continue operating in the event of primary control malfunction. A foot pump (to provide hydraulic power)
and an override-hand-control are located on the right side of the table base behind a cover panel. The method of
adjusting the head rest remains unchanged, as the head rest is always adjusted manually.
5.9.1 Backup (Override) Control System Operation
To operate system, proceed as follows (see Figure 5-4):
1. Flip pedal down.
2. Slide Backup Hand Control out from base.
3. To operate table functions, pump pedal while pressing desired function button on Backup Hand Control (see
Figure 5-5).
NOTE: When using the Backup (Override) Control System, note the following:
1) For FLOOR UNLOCK and SLIDE (HEAD and FOOT) functions, it is not necessary to pump pedal.
2) Pressing any button on the Backup Hand Control deactivates Primary Hand Control.
3) When a SLIDE pushbutton is pressed, the green LED (see Figure 5-5) next to the word CAUTION should
light indicating system is active.
WARNING – PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE HAZARD:
ALS System is not active during Backup Control. Ensure proper tabletop movements to prevent
patient/staff injury and/or equipment damage.
During Backup Control, tabletop functions are available even if table floor locks are NOT
engaged. LOCK table before moving tabletop or transferring patient.
