• Install the balancer shaft arm.
NOTE
Apply a small quantity of thread lock to the
balancer shaft arm bolt and tighten it to the
specified torque.
: Thread lock cement 99000–32110
(THREAD LOCK CEMENT SUPER 1322 or
equivalent)
Tightening torque
Balancer shaft arm bolt (a): 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.0
lb-ft)
• Slowly turn the balancer shaft (2) clockwise until it
stops (position “F”) with a (–) screwdriver.
• From this position, turn the balancer shaft (2)
counterclockwise by 1.5 – 2 graduations “G” and
tighten the bolt (3).
From “F” to “G”: 1.5 – 2 graduations
Tightening torque
Balancer shaft mounting bolt (b): 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-
m, 7.0 lb-ft)
NOTE
If the balancer gear is noisy after starting the
engine, turn in or out the balancer shaft
within 1 graduation from standard setting to
reduce the gear noise.
