1. Using a feeler gauge, check the clutch air gap at
each of the three adjustment slots. Set the gap to
.015” (0.381mm). Make sure the gauge is inserted
between the armature and the rotor friction surfaces
(Fig. 784).

2. Install the spring washer (crown toward the bolt
head) and at washer to the clutch bolt (Fig. 785).

3. Apply thread locking compound to the threads of the
clutch bolt (Fig. 786).

4. Torque the clutch bolt to 55 ft-lbs. (75 Nm) (Fig.
787).
