6 Commissioning the device
6.1 Initial commissioning
6.1.1 Mounting/electrical installation
h Set the PROFIsafe address at the device.
h Please assure the proper closing of the protective cover over the rotary coding switches, see
chapter 5, Address setting.
h Mount the TBPN-L1-FDIO1-2IOL according to the mounting description in chapter 4.1, Mount-
ing.
h Connect the Ethernet cable:
Pin assignment of the Ethernet connectors, see chapter 3.4.1, PROFINET
Connect the M12 connectors, see chapter 4.3.3, Connect the M12 connectors
h Connect the power supply cable:
Pin assignment of the 7/8'' connectors, see chapter 3.4.2, Power supply
Connect the 7/8'' connectors, see chapter 4.3.2, Connect the supply voltage 7/8"
h Wire the in- and outputs depending on their use:
Pin assignment of the M12 connectors, see chapter 3.4.3, I/O channels,
Connect the M12 connectors, see chapter 4.3.3, Connect the M12 connectors
h Seal unused connectors with the respective protection caps, chapter 4.3.4, Assure protection
class (IP67/IP69K)
Connecting the supply voltage
h Before the operating voltage is applied, assure that:
no wiring or grounding errors exist
a safe grounding of the device/of the application is guaranteed
h Connect the supply voltage.
h After the supply voltage is connected, check if all supply voltages as well as the output voltage
are in the permitted range.
h Check if the device works properly or if errors are displayed by controlling the diagnostics an sta-
tus displays.
