Polled Mode
In the polled mode the FS11P sensor sends a data message when the host
computer transmits a polling command. The automatic message sending
mode is disabled by setting the message interval to zero with the
following command:
SET MESSAGE INTERVAL 0

If only one FS11P unit is on the line (no ID is
necessary)

The FS11P unit A (ID = A) is polled for message
number 03 (status message). This is used when
several devices are on the same line
The FS11P sensor does not echo the polling character string.

When there are several devices on the same modem line, the polled unit
turns the modem (DMX501 only) carrier on after it has acknowledged
the request. Turning on the carrier will cause extra characters to be added
in front of its first message character. The FS11P sensor waits for about
100 ms after the carrier has been turned on before it sends the message.
