  If the LEDs for a 100/1000 Ethernet port on your ZyXEL Communications Modem do not turn on, remember that each RJ-45 Ethernet port is paired with a mini GBIC slot, and the modem uses only one connection per pair. Check the Speed Mode settings in the ENET Port Setup screen to ensure the connection speed matches the peer Ethernet device's port speed. Note that when an Ethernet port is set to Auto, the modem will try to establish a fiber connection first and won't use the RJ-45 port if the fiber connection is successful. Also, inspect the Ethernet cable and connections, ensuring you are using 1000Base-T 4-pair (8 wire) UTP Cat. 5 Ethernet cables with the RJ-45 interface. Finally, verify that the peer Ethernet device is functioning correctly. If the problem persists, the port may be defective,...
