service, plan the replacement carefully and follow your company policies. See Additional information.
Please review the following admonitions in this section before replacement.
NOTICE Equipment damage: The electronic board inside the XSeries
G5
housing is
susceptible to damage by static electricity or improper handling. To prevent this, wear a
grounding strap when handling the board.
A grounding strap is a conductive device that makes a connection between the person
handling the board and a high-quality ground point. Before handling the board, install a
ground strap on your body. Then connect it to a grounded point. This discharges electrical
static buildup from the body to the ground and prevents static from discharging to the
board.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The new board may require calibration and the setting of the clock to
the correct date time/time. All device events including calibration are time stamped. You will
be prompted to change the time/date settings at startup to match those of the connecting
laptop or PC (figure below). Before you change the factory default, determine if your
company’s policies specify when, during the new board setup, the date/time should be
updated. Click Help at the prompt for more details.

10.7.4 Replace the LCD assembly
In some XSeries
G5
models, the LCD assembly is installed behind of the electronic board on the
enclosure door. To replace it, board removal is required.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If replacing a board in a device that is in service, follow your company
policies and procedures to place the unit offline prior to removal.
WARNING Bodily injury. Attach a ground strap to your body and connect it to a good
earth ground before handling any electronic boards. This discharges any electrical static
buildup in your body to the ground, instead of to the electronic board.
Tools needed:
Phillips head screwdriver
3/16” nut driver
To replace LCD:
Connect with the device using PCCU entry mode.
Follow the procedures to backup device data and configuration as described in section 10.1
Preserve data and configuration.
