5.9.8 Calculation between 2 Measurements
1. Function
The calculation equation between 2 measurements is shown below:
When one of the four arithmetic operations is selected by the 2MEAS item in , the selected
arithmetic display on the left side display section turns on and the calculation is performed.
If OFF is selected by the 2MEAS item in while the calculation between 2 measurements is
performed, the calculation is canceled and the arithmetic operation display on the left side display
section turns off.
NOTE:
1. While the calculation between 2 measurements is performed, the actual measured values are not dis-
played. Remember that any hazardous voltage on the input connector and test lead may not be detected
at this time.
2. For the single measurement, the calculation between 2 measurements cannot be used. Set this calcula-
tion on the dual display.
2. 2MEAS OL (Overload for the calculation between 2 measurement)
If a calculation result between 2 measurements exceeds a value of 999.999E+6, “S OL” is dis-
played. At this time, the measurement range is not changed to the upper range even if it is set to the
auto-range. (Auto-range is determined according to the measurement value acquired before the cal-
culation is performed.)
3. Canceling the calculation between 2 measurements
The calculation between 2 measurements is canceled when any of the following conditions occur.
• When OFF is selected by the 2MEAS item in while the calculation between 2 measure-
ments is performed.
• When the measurement function is changed.
• When the *RST command is executed.
• When the comparator calculation is performed (ON).
• When the right side display is canceled (OFF) while the calculation between 2 measurements is
performed.
4. Calculation between 2 measurements and OL (overload)
If the overload occurs during the calculation between 2 measurements, this measured value is ig-
nored.
5. Zero division
If zero is measured on the right side display while division between 2 measurements is performed, a
calculation error occurs and the error message “Err d” is displayed.
