OsmoTECH PRO Multi-Sample Micro-Osmometer Service Guide
6. The instrument tests samples from each standard
three times.
• Checkmarks indicate successful calibration. The
instrument prints DONE for successful tests.
• Failed tests clear checkmarks and put a red X in
the test field.
If the calibration fails, you need to restart
calibration. Failed calibrations are saved until a
successful calibration is achieved with the standard.
When calibration is successful, the instrument calculates
and saves a new calibration slope and intercept.
0and2000mOsm/kg H₂O calibration (optional)
After a successful 50and850mOsm calibration, you
are prompted for a 0mOsm calibration.
For optimal performance, do not open the 0mOsm
calibrator prior to being prompted by the instrument.
1. Press YES or NO.
• If you press NO, skip to step 5.
• If you press YES , the turntable moves to the next
open position.
2. Using a new, unopened vial, load three replicates of
0mOsm in the positions indicated by the
instrument prompt.
3. Press START.
4. The instrument tests samples from the standard
three times.
• A checkmark ( ) indicates successful calibration.
The instrument prints DONE for successful tests,
and calculates and saves a new calibration slope
and intercept.
• A red X ( ) indicates a failed test.
The instrument prompts you to retry the
calibration. Failed calibrations are saved until a
successful calibration is achieved with the
standard.
5. After a successful 0mOsm calibration or if you
pressed NO in step 1, you are prompted for a
2000mOsm calibration.
6. Press YES or NO.
• If you press NO, the calibration process ends.
• If you press YES, the turntable moves to the next
open position.
For optimal performance, do not open the
2000mOsm calibrator prior to being prompted
by the instrument.
7. Using a new, unopened vial, load three replicates of
2000mOsm in the positions indicated by the
instrument prompt.
8. Press START.
9. The instrument tests samples from the standard
three times.
• A checkmark ( ) indicates successful calibration.
The instrument prints DONE for successful tests,
and calculates and saves a new calibration slope
and intercept.
• A red X ( ) indicates a failed test.
The instrument prompts you to retry the
calibration. Failed calibrations are saved until a
successful calibration is achieved with the
standard.
