OsmoTECH PRO Multi-Sample Micro-Osmometer Service Guide
Chapter 7: Troubleshooting
If a system error message appears on the screen during
operation, you may be able to fix the problem. For
example, you might need to close the printer door or
take some other simple action.
If you are unable to resolve the system error, contact
Advanced Instrument Technical Service for assistance.
(See Contacting Advanced Instruments.)
WARNING: Always unplug the power cord
before opening or removing the instrument
cover. You could be exposed to electric shock,
excessive temperatures, or mechanical
hazards.
NOTICE: A discharge of static electricity from
contact with the human body or other
conductor can damage system boards or
static-sensitive devices. Never perform internal
maintenance without following recommended
electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection
procedures.
Error alerts
If an error occurs while operating the instrument, an
error tone sounds and a notification appears on the
screen.
1. Press the Warning icon to open the Error screen and
view the error description:
2. When the issue is resolved, press CLEAR to clear the
error message.
3. Press EXIT to return to the Main screen.
If an error repeatedly occurs, further troubleshooting is
needed. If you cannot resolve the issue based on the
information in this service guide, contact Advanced
Instrument’s Technical Services Department for
assistance (see Contacting Advanced Instruments).
7.3 Fatal errors
If a fatal error occurs during testing, the test process is
stopped automatically to ensure the safety of the
instrument.
No further tests can be started until the issue is resolved.
Fatal error messages appear on the screen notifying the
instrument operator of the error.
Non-fatal errors
Non-fatal errors can occur while a test is in progress or
when the instrument is idle. These errors do not interfere
with the testing process and do not restrict users from
starting a test or calibrating.
If a non-fatal error occurs that cannot be resolved
through troubleshooting procedures, please contact our
Technical Services Department for further assistance.
