Sample test errors
Sample test error occur due to an issue with a test
sample. The following Sample Test Errors may occur
during testing:
Sample Did Not Freeze
Sample Pre-Freeze
Test Time Out
No Tube Detected
Out of Range (Low/High)
The test continues to run to completion if one or more
of these errors occur, depending on the action set.
Sample test errors are displayed in the results column
on the Main screen. The tube position is shown in red:
Sample test errors are recorded on the printout and
stored in the events database.
NOTE: If one of these errors occurs, consider re-
pipetting the sample carefully following the
proper techniques discussed in Testing sample in
the user guide. If multiple tests produce these
error messages, refer to the sample test error
troubleshooting table.
7.1 General errors
The system can detect these general errors.
Error Suggested action
Printer Oine
External printer out of paper,
powered o, or other issue..
Calibration required
Instrument settings changed—such as
probe resistances or motor
alignment—and the instrument needs
to be calibrated.
Perform a successful calibration test
and clear the error.
Turntable proximity
sensor: too much
ambient light
Tube proximity sensor:
too much ambient
light
Move the instrument away from
excessive ambient light and clear the
error
Error Possible cause/Suggested action
Sample pre-freeze
Cause: The sample froze prematurely.
Action:
Confirm good pipette technique
and pipette condition.
Re-pipette the sample.
Re-test a new sample using a
known control such as Clinitrol.
Check for particulate matter in
the sample.
Clean the cooling well.
Clean the sample probe with a
chamber cleaner dampened with
water.
Sample did not
freeze
Cause: The sample might be above
the range of the instrument.
Action:
Confirm sample is present in the
sampler.
Confirm good pipette technique
and pipette condition.
Test the solenoid (see Testing the
solenoid).
Test a control such as Clinitrol to
see if the issue persists.
Clean the sample probe.
