4.3 Testing the sample and block motors
Use this screen to test the instrument motors and
alignment. Each motor can move individually.
1. Press MOTORS.
2. Press ENGAGE to engage the motors.
3. Press DISENGAGE to disengage both motors.
4. Press Exit to return to the Diagnostics menu.
Testing the sample motor
1. Press MOTORS.
2. Press Sample to move the motor to the home
position.
3. Press Sample to move the sample motor to the
engaged position.
4. Press Exit to return to the Diagnostics menu.
Testing the block motor
1. Press MOTORS.
2. Press Block to move the block motor to the
engaged position.
3. Press Block to move the block motor to the home
position.
4. Press Exit to return to the Diagnostics menu.
Testing a wipe process
1. Press MOTORS > PROBE WIPE.
PROBE WIPE toggles to PROBE HOME.
The turntable moves to the selected wipe position.
The probe moves downward into the turntable wipe
position.
2. Press PROBE HOME to move the probe to the home
position.
3. Press Exit to return to the Diagnostics menu.
Testing the turntable motor
The turntable can rotate to various positions.
Position Description
LOAD Moves turntable to the selected tube’s load
position. This position aligns with the opening in
the front of the evaporation cover.
TEST Moves the turntable to the selected tube’s test
position. This position aligns with the sample
probe and cooling block assemblies.
WIPE Moves the turntable to the selected tube’s wipe
position. Wipe positions are between each tube
position and are not numbered.
HOME Turntable rotates completely and stops when
position 1 is in the test position (home).
1. Select a position on the turntable.
2. Press the button corresponding to the turntable
position.
3. The motor rotates to the selected turntable position.
4. Press Exit to return to the Diagnostics menu.
