To replace the electrospray nebulizer needle in the analytical or the reference nebulizer sprayer
11 Hold the needle holder steady with a 3-mm wrench. Tighten the union
one-quarter to one-half turn to compress the ferrule.

12 Tighten the locknut against the union.
13 Pull carefully on the needle to ensure the needle is held firmly in place.
14 Replace locknut and washer.
15 Insert the needle into the nebulizer shaft.
16 Adjust the electrospray needle position before reinstalling the nebulizer in
the spray chamber.
Take care when inserting the needle. The tapered end of the needle must pass through
the restrictions in the nebulizer shaft. The tip of the needle can be damaged if
excessive force is applied.
Record this procedure in the Maintenance Logbook.
