MS20xxC MM PN: 10580-00307 Rev. D 3-13
21. Press the Freq hard key and then the Center Freq soft key.
22. Enter 50.1 and the press the MHz soft key to set Center Freq to 50.1 MHz.
23. Press the Shift key and then press the Trace (5) key.
24. Press the Trace A Operations soft key and then the # of Averages soft key.
25. Enter 5 and then press the Enter key to set # of Averages to 5.
26. Wait until the Trace Count displays 5/5.
27. Press the Marker hard key and then the Peak Search soft key.
28. Record the amplitude at 50.1 MHz in Table A-15, “Spectrum Analyzer Spurious Response (Second
Harmonic Distortion)” on page A-8 for MS2036C, in Table A-36, “Spectrum Analyzer Spurious Response
(Second Harmonic Distortion)” on page A-18 for MS2037C or in Table A-60, “Spectrum Analyzer
Spurious Response (Second Harmonic Distortion)” on page A-31 for MS2038C.
29. Press the Freq hard key and then the Center Freq soft key.
30. Enter 100.2 and the press the MHz soft key to set Center Freq to 100.2 MHz.
31. Wait until the Trace Count displays 5/5.
32. Press the Marker hard key.
33. Enter 100.2 and the press the MHz soft key to set the Marker Frequency to 100.2 MHz.
34. Record the amplitude at 100.2 MHz in Table A-15 for MS2036C, in Table A-36 for MS2037C or in
Table A-60 for MS2038C.
35. Calculate the 2nd Harmonic level in dBc by subtracting the 50.1 MHz amplitude from the 100.2 MHz
amplitude by using the following formula:
2nd Harmonic level dBc = 100.2 MHz amplitude – 50.1 MHz amplitude
36. Record the calculated 2nd Harmonic level value in Table A-15 for MS2036C, in Table A-36
for MS2037C
or in Table A-60 for MS2038C and verify that the calculated value is ≤ –54 dBc.
