NOTE: Steps 1-9 in the preceding sub-section
must precede this procedure.
10. Loosen the clamp securing the coolant hose to
the union; then detach the hose.
11. Remove the two nuts securing the cylinder to
the crankcase.

12. Lift the cylinder off the crankcase taking care
not to allow the piston to drop against the crank-
case. Account for the gasket and two alignment
pins.

13. Using an awl, remove one piston-pin circlip.

14. Using the Piston Pin Puller (p/n 0644-328),
remove the piston pin. Account for the oppo-
site-side circlip. Remove the piston.
NOTE: It is advisable to remove the oppo-
site-side circlip prior to using the puller.

! CAUTION
When removing the cylinder, be sure to support the
piston to prevent damage to the crankcase and pis-
ton.
