2. Dock trial
If the results of the dry run are satisfactory, the function of
control heads and joysticks is tested. The test is carried out
with the engine running while the ship is safely moored in
order to see if the drives are actuated as intended.
3. Sea Trial
During the sea trial, various navigation maneuvers are
performed to measure relevant parameters and observe if
the ship moves as intended when operated via Marex 3D.
The settings are adapted to the ship’s specific requirements
by means of 3D-Tuning.
Be aware that all test procedures described in this
document refer to standard applications. If the system
which shall be commissioned provides supplementary
functions, make sure to include tests for those as well.
The initial operation of Marex 3D requires the full
operability of the Marex system on which it is based.
O Refer to the manual "MarexOS II/III: Devices and
Adjustments" for information on the initial operation and
function tests of MarexOS II/III.
O Refer to the Marex ECS Quick Guide for information on
starting up Marex ECS.
6.3.2.1 Dry run
In the dry run, the function of Marex 3D is tested while all drives,
main propulsions and thrusters, are switched off so that there
is no real impact on other systems. The procedure is described
in the following text. Table 3 provides an overview on the
standard tests including two columns in which you can note
your observations.
All ship drives must be switched off during the dry run.
