5.4.2 Downtimes - operation without control unit
Read and follow the safety instructions detailed in
Ä
Chapter
2.12 “Safety instructions for maintenance and rectifying mal-
functions” on page 37.
1. Switch off / close the valve of the feed.
For operation with an installed feed pump, please observe
the operating manual of the pump.
2. Release the pre-tension of the Multi Disc by releasing the
spring or, for the pneumatic version, releasing the pressure.
3. Emptying:
Empty the Bioselect as far as possible, by switching it off with
an appropriate delay after stopping the feed.
Switch off the separator drive after approx. 60 seconds.
Emptying is complete when:
the current consumption has reached the idling current
and
the pressure upstream of the liquid phase pump is at
0.0 bar (0.0 psi).
Otherwise, malfunctions may occur during a restart as a
result of the unregulated feed (auger clogged with mate-
rial, thick matter plug too tight).
4. Close the liquid phase outlet.
5. Leave the residual substrate in the Bioselect during normal
downtimes, provided the type of substrate does not prevent
this and there is no risk of it drying out (airtight closed
system).
6. Clean the Bioselect in these cases, and before long down-
time periods as described in
Ä
Chapter 4.3.1 “Storage”
on page 69.
7. Protect the Bioselect particularly against frost.
