The gear motor is supplied factory-installed as standard.
3.1.5 Shaft seal
The Börger Bioselect is equipped with a specially developed and
optimized mechanical seal (7) as standard, which seals off the
interior of the separator completely from the gear unit or the inter-
mediate chamber (see
Ä Chapter 3.1.6 “Intermediate chamber
(quench)” on page 48).
Mechanical seals are available in a variety of material combina-
tions. The mechanical seal of your separator is described in the
enclosed data sheet.
3.1.6 Intermediate chamber (quench)
The intermediate chamber with safety plug separates the hydraulic
part of the separator from the gear unit. It is used for monitoring
the integrity of the mechanical seal.
Overflowing caused by penetrating substrate indicates that the
mechanical seal must be replaced immediately in order to prevent
the substrate from entering the gear unit.
The safety opening in the intermediate chamber may only be
closed with the safety plug.
When the safety opening is closed tightly, emerging substrate
cannot escape and will penetrate the gear unit if the mechanical
seal is defective. This could damage the gear unit.
