3.1.1 Feed unit
The feed unit (1) is flanged on to the pipe casing (2.1) and the
motor plate (6.1). The feed unit is the part of the separator to which
the feed pump or the feed line has to be connected. Two inlet
openings (1.1) are available for the connection of the feed,
whereby the unused short, straight pipe connector is sealed with a
blind flange as standard.
The substrate is pumped into the feed unit by the feed pump, or, in
the case of gravity feed operation, fed from the reservoir, from
where it proceeds into the separating and conveying unit (2).
3.1.2 Separating and conveying unit
The separating and conveying unit (2) is located inside the robust
Bioselect pipe casing (2.1), which is connected to the compactor
unit (3).
The substrate that is to be separated is fed into the separating and
conveying unit (2) via the feed unit (1), for example by means of a
rotary lobe pump or via gravity feed from an elevated reservoir.
The rotating brush auger (2.3) inside the wedge wire screen (2.2)
transports the thick matter to the compactor unit (3), while the
liquid phase drains through the wedge wire screen (2.2) and the
outlet openings (2.6) at the bottom of the pipe casing.
The wedge wire screen (2.2) is secured against rotating by rotation
lock rails mounted inside the pipe casing.
3.1.3 Compactor and clamping unit
The rotating brush auger (2.3) transports the thick matter phase
into the press channel (3.3) of the compactor unit (3).
The thick matter outlet is sealed by the Multi Disc (3.1), which is
connected to the brush auger.
The pressure of the Multi Disc (3.1) is maintained by the pre-ten-
sion of the tension spring (4.1.1) or with pneumatic clamping units
by the pressure of the pneumatic cylinder (4.2.1).
The pre-tension of the tension spring (4.1.1) can be adjusted via
the clamping screw (4.1.2).
