NOTICE!
Risk of material damage due to imbalances!
— Persistent encrustations of substrate residue between the
brush auger and the wedge wire screen can result in the
wedge wire screen being deformed and permanently dam-
aged by the rotation of the brush auger when put back into
operation.
— Foreign bodies (e.g. stones) can damage the filter and the
rotation lock.
Check for smooth running!
— Ensure that no imbalances are caused by improper cleaning,
substrate residue or foreign bodies.
4.5.1 Checking smooth running following storage and long downtimes
— Read and follow the safety instructions detailed in
Ä
Chapter
2.12 “Safety instructions for maintenance and rectifying mal-
functions” on page 37.
— To the extent necessary, amply secure the surrounding area
when performing installation. Cordon off the working area with
a red and white safety chain and a warning sign.
1. Before recommissioning a used separator, check that the
interior is free of foreign particles, encrustations of hardened
substrate residue and other impurities, and that the brush
auger can rotate freely, see
Ä
Chapter 6 “Maintenance and
repairs” on page 109 in this respect.
2. Ensure that the Multi Disc can rotate freely and move axially
to open and close, i.e. that it is not blocked by encrustations
of hardened substrate residue. If required, clean the Multi
Disc and lubricate the adjustment mechanism, see
Ä
Chapter 6.1.3 “Internal cleaning” on page 116 and
Ä
Chapter 6.2.3 “Lubricating the adjustment mechanism and
the bearing” on page 127.
