A long service life of the mechanical seal can be expected, if the
unit is used as intended and the limits are not exceeded. The
mechanical seal only needs to be replaced if substrate has entered
the intermediate chamber and the quench fluid runs out, e.g. after
feeding aggressive substrates or substrate admixtures that have
attacked the O-rings of the mechanical seal or the mechanical
seal.
