1.TurnthetimeddisconnectswitchtotheONposition.
2.Takeupthecorrectpositionintheoperator'sseatwith
theseatbeltcorrectlyfastened.Makesureyoucan
pushthefootpedalscompletelydownwithyourback
againsttheseatcushion.
3.Makecertainthetransmissiondirectioncontrolisin
NEUTRALandtheparkingbrakeisapplied.
4.TurnthekeyswitchtotheONpositionandcheckthe
instrumentindicators.
5.Keepallnon-authorizedpersonnelclearofthearea.
Soundthehorntoalertothersofyourintenttostart
theengine.TurnthekeyswitchtotheSTARTposition
untiltheenginestarts,thenreleasethekey.
NOTICE:thestarterhasanautomaticcut-outtopro-
tectitself.Incoldweatherconditions,extendedcrank-
ingmaybenecessary.
6.Aftertheenginestarts,checktheinstrumentstomake
suretheindicationsarecorrect.Runtheengineatlow
idlewiththetransmissioninNEUTRALuntiltheengine
coolanttemperatureiswarm.
NOTICE:operatethemachineatreducedloadsuntil
allsystemsreachoperatingtemperature.Thisisvery
importantduringextremelycoldweatheroperationto
protectboththeengineandhydraulicsystems.
Thetransmissionwillnotshiftintogearunlessthe
transmissionuidiswarmenough.
Enginespeed
DONOTOPERATEtheengineatidlespeedforlongperi-
ods.Thiscancausealowoperatingtemperature.Alow
operatingtemperaturecancauseacidsanddepositsin
theengineoil.
Runtheengineatlowidleforaminuteatstartupbefore
pickingupspeedandload.
NOTICE:alwaysbringtheenginetolowidleforafew
minutestoletallpartscoolevenlybeforeshutdown.
