NOTOPERATEtagonthekeyswitch.Makesurethat
themachineisclearly“taggedout”.
•
Wearprotectiveglassesandotherrequiredsafety
equipmentwhenservicingorrepairingthemachine.
•
Wearglovestoprotecthandswhenhandlingcables.
•
Disconnectthebatteryclampfromthenegativebattery
terminalbeforeworkingontheelectricalsystem.Know
theconsequencesofdisconnectinganyelectronicsor
computerdevices.
•
Avoidlubricationormechanicaladjustmentswiththe
machineinmotionortheengineoperating.Iftheen-
ginemustbeinoperationtomakecertainadjustments,
placethetransmissioninneutral,installthearticulation
lock,applytheparkingdevice,placethebucket/attach-
mentinasafeposition,securelyblockthewheelsand
useextremecaution.
•
Securelyblockthemachineoranycomponentthatmay
fallbeforeworkingonthemachineorcomponent.If
possible,useabackuporsecondaryblockingdevice
aswell.
•
Topreventunexpectedmovement,securelyblock
workingelementswhenrepairingorchangingworking
toolpartssuchascuttingedges.
•
Nevermakerepairsonpressurizedcomponents,uid,
gasormechanicalcomponentsuntilthepressurehas
beenrelievedaccordingtothemanufacturer’sinstruc-
tions.
•
Useextremecautionwhenremovingradiator,reservoir,
ortankcaps,drainplugs,greasettingsorpressure
taps.Parkthemachineandletitcoolbeforeopeninga
pressurizedtank.
•
Releaseallpressurebeforeworkingonsystemswhich
haveanaccumulator.
•
Hydraulicoilordieselfuelleakingunderpressurecan
penetratetheskinandcauseinfectionorotherinjuries.
Topreventpersonalinjury,relieveallpressurebefore
disconnectinguidlinesorperformingworkonthehy-
draulicsystem.Beforeapplyingpressure,makecertain
allconnectionsaretightandcomponentsareingood
condition.
•
Useapieceofcardboard,newspaper,orwoodtocheck
foranypressurizedleakstopreventuidpenetrating
theskin.Pressurizeaccumulatorswiththepropergas
accordingtomanufacturer’srecommendations.
•
Wheninatingtires,useaself-attachinginationchuck
withremoteshutoffandstandclearofthetire.Position
yourselfbesidethetireandnotbesidetherim.
•
Whenabsolutelynecessarytotowthemachine,donot
exceedtherecommendedtowingspeed.Besurethe
towingmachinehassufcientbrakingcapacitytostop
thetowedload.Ifthetowedmachinecannotbebraked,
atowbarmustbeusedortwotowingmachinesmust
beused-oneinfrontpullingandoneinthereartoact
asabrake.Avoidtowingoverlongdistances.

Alwaysobservepropermaintenanceprocedures.
•
Alwaysreplaceallmissing,illegibleordamagedsafety
signsordecalsasnecessary.Keepsallsafetysigns
anddecalscleanandlegible.
Observepropermaintenanceprocedures

Wheneverservicingorreplacinghardenedpins,etc.,
useabrassdriftorothersuitablematerialbetweenthe
hammerandthepin.Alt:useabrasshammer,driftor
suitablematerialonthepin,etc.
•
Keepthebrakesandsteeringsystemsingoodoperat-
ingcondition.
