CAUTION!
Avoid Damage to the New Seal
To avoid damaging the internal surface of the new
seal as it is being placed over the rotor shaft, wrap
the threads and the sharp shoulder of the shaft in
electrical tape.
To replace the lip seal, refer to Figure 11.5 and to previous Figure 11.1. Perform the following
steps:

Adjust the belt tensioning lever to loosen the belt.

Remove the drive belt and nut that secures the pulley and remove the pulley on the rotor
shaft to expose the pump shaft (lip) seal.

Remove the three screws securing the seal unit.

Remove the old seal by pulling it gently along its shaft.

Check that the shaft is not scored in such a manner that will damage a new seal when it
is installed.

Slide the new seal along the shaft and secure it reusing the three screws.

With the new seal fitted and secured, replace the pump pulley and the drive belt.
h
Adjust the tensioning lever as necessary to tighten the belt.
i
Test the dispenser for proper operation, checking for leaks at the new seal.
