6.4 ISB Assembly Replacement
The Intrinsic Safe Barrier circuit board is mounted inside a white (or black) plastic box in the
center of the electronic head on Side A. If a second ISB assembly is present, it is accessed and
removed from side B. The circuit board itself is not separately replaceable. The complete assembly
(the white plastic box), as show below in Fig 6.3, must be replaced. For European Union countries,
also see Appendix F ATEX Information.

Turn off power at the dispenser power switch.

Unplug the cables at the top of the ISB assembly. The cables go to iGEM and to the nozzle
switch converter board. If there are more than two WIP’s, a third cable will go to the second
ISB.

At the lower part of the ISB box, push in on the tab on each side and raise and remove the
lower cover.

Unplug the two WIP cables and the nozzle switch I/F cable from the bottom connectors.

Remove (2) 3 mm screws that secure the ISB case to the bracket and remove the assembly.

Install the new assembly.
