User instructions specific to hazardous area installations when the equipment is
supplied to the user as an individual piece of equipment i.e. not supplied as part of
separate overall equipment
The following instructions shall accompany each product. These instructions may be
contained in a discrete section within an operation manual or similar document. The wording
and format may be altered provided the meaning remains unchanged.
The following instructions are relevant to the Nozzle Switch Interface WU008514-00001
covered by certificate numbers IECEx SIR 12.0154X and Sira 12ATEX2367X.
1.
The certification marking is as follows:
2.
The equipment may be used in zones 1 & 2 with flammable gases and vapours with
apparatus groups IIA &
IIB and with temperature classes T1, T2, T3 & T4.
3.
The equipment is only certified for use in ambient temperatures in the range -40|C to
+
70|C and should not be used outside this range.
4.
Installation shall be carried out in accordance with the applicable code of practice by
suitably
-trained personnel.
5.
The equipment contains no user-replaceable parts and is not intended to be repaired by the
user. Repair of the equipment is to be carried out by the manufacturer, or their approved
agents, in accordance with the a
pplicable code of practice.
6.
If the equipment is likely to come into contact with aggressive substances, e.g. acidic liquids
or gases that may attack metals or solvents that may affect polymeric materials, then it is
the responsibility of the user to take suitable precautions that pre
vent it from being
adversely affected thus ensuring that the type of protection is not compromised.
7.
The certificate number has an ‘X’ suffix which indicates that special conditions of installation
and use apply. Those installing or inspecting this equi
pment must have access to the
contents of the certificate or these instructions. The conditions listed in the certificate are
reproduced below:
i.
The equipment shall be installed within an additional enclosure that provides a
minimum ingress protection of IP20 or greater, depending on the intended use
and environmental conditions.
This enclosure shall either be part of a separately certified piece of equipment
e.g. a fuel dispenser, or if this is not the case, the enclosure shall be in
accordance with the
following:
x
If metallic, it shall meet the requirements for light alloys in Clause 8.3
of IEC 60079-0:2011 / EN 60079-0:2012.
x If non-metallic it shall meet the electrostatic requirements of Clause
7.4.2 of IEC 60079-0:2011 / EN 60079-0:2012.
In addition any accessible metal parts with a resistance to earth of more than
10
9
Ω shall meet the requirements of Clause 7.5 of IEC 60079-0:2011 / EN
60079-0:2012.
ii.
The equipment is intended to be mounted by a single screw that passes
through a hole in the p.c.b. and
equipment housing, making contact with the
ground
-plane on the p.c.b. Therefore, when installed in this manner, the
equipment is not capable of passing a 500 V insulation test between circuit and
frame/earth in accordance with clause 6.3.13 of IEC 60079
-11:2011 / EN
60079
-11:2012. This shall therefore be taken into account in any equipment
installation.
