3.4.3. Sensors
As a standard, the IS-6000 Doppler meter comes with an area velocity sensor for ultrasonic flow velocity and water level
measurement. Depending on the measurement task and site conditions external sensors for example for water level
measurement such as a pressure sensor or a non-contact ultrasonic level sensor can be connected via 4…20 mA interfaces.
3.4.3.1. Area Velocity Sensors
The mouse-type area velocity sensor measures flow velocity and water level based on the pulse (echo) coherent method
corrected by an embedded temperature sensor. The small sensor dimensions mean less interference resulting in more
accurate velocity measurements, especially under low flow conditions.
