3 Transducer Blocks (transmission blocks) PROline Prosonic Flow 93 FOUNDATION Fieldbus
104 Endress+Hauser
3.4 Selecting the operating mode
The operating mode is set by means of the MODE_BLK parameter group, (see
Page 107). The Transducer Blocks support the following operating modes:
AUTO (automatic mode)
OOS (out of service).
Note!
The OOS operating mode is also displayed via the BLOCK_ERR parameter,
(see Page 107). In the OOS operating mode, you can access all the write parameters
without restriction if write protection is not enabled and the release code is entered,
(Un-/Locking - Access Code parameter).
The following applies to the Transducer Blocks TRANSDUCER_CH1 (flow channel 1,
base index 1200), TRANSDUCER_CH2 (flow channel 2, base index 1300)
and TRANSDUCER_TOT (totalizer, base index 1550):
In the OOS operating mode, the process variables are updated but the status of
the OUT output value of the downstream Analog Input function block changes to
BAD.
The Transducer Block(s) in question must be in AUTO (automatic) mode for the
process variable to be processed correctly in the downstream Analog Input function
block.
Please refer to the Operating Instructions for PROline Prosonic Flow 93 FOUNDATION
Fieldbus, BA078D/06/en, if problems arise when configuring the function blocks.
3.5 Alarm detection and processing
The Transducer Blocks do not generate any process alarms. The status of the process
variables is evaluated in the downstream Analog Input function blocks.
A process alarm is generated if the Analog Input function block receives an input value
which cannot be evaluated from the Transducer Blocks TRANSDUCER_ CH1 (flow
channel 1, base index 1200), TRANSDUCER_CH2 (flow channel 2, base index 1300) or
TRANSDUCER_TOT (totalizer, base index 1550). This process alarm is displayed in the
BLOCK_ERR parameter of the Analog Input function block, (BLOCK_ERR = Input
Failure).
The BLOCK_ERR parameter (see Page 107) of the Transducer Block
TRANSDUCER_DIAG (base index 1600) displays the device error that produced the
input value that could not be evaluated and thus triggered the process alarm in the
Analog Input function block.
Detailed information on the current device status and any pending errors is shown in the
Transducer Block TRANSDUCER_DIAG (base index 1600) in the Diagnosis - Actual
System Condition parameter, (see Page 156).
More information on eliminating errors can be found in the Operating Instructions for
PROline Prosonic Flow 93 FOUNDATION Fieldbus, BA078D/06/en.
