Protecting Settings
from Unauthorized
Access
The following write protection options exist in order to protect the J22 TDLAS Gas
Analyzer software configuration from unintentional modification:
• Protect access to parameters via access code
• Protect access to local operation via key locking → 39
• Protect access to measuring device via write protection switch → 84
Write protection via access code
The effects of the user-specific access code are as follows:
• Via local operation, the parameters for the measuring device configuration
are write protected and their values can no longer be changed.
Defining the access code via local display
1. Navigate to the Define access code parameter (→ 79).
2. Define a max. 16-digit character string comprising numbers, letters and spe-
cial characters as the access code.
3. Enter the access code again in the Confirm access code parameter (→ 79)
to confirm the code.
The -symbol appears in front of all write-protected parameters.
The device automatically locks the write-protected parameters again if a key is
not pressed for 10 minutes in the navigation and editing view. The device locks
the write-protected parameters automatically after 60 s if the user skips back to
the operational display mode from the navigation and editing view.
