3. Under Record, checkmark Then Name It and give your video a name. (Let’s call it
“OurKids”.) Also, checkmark the Then Email It to button and type the recipient’s
email address. (Say, grandma@evolution.com.)
4. Click ER1’s Run it button and gather everybody to wave for the video.
5. At 2:00 P.M. ER1 should take 5 seconds of video, name the video “OurKids,” attach it
to an email and send it to Grandma.
6. Save the behavior and then click on Open to get a new, blank behavior set.
Take a picture of the family and email it to Uncle Fred
1. Under If on a blank behavior tab, checkmark Time and set the time when you want to
shoot the picture. Everybody here? Ok, then let’s set the time for one minute from
now, and the frequency to Once.
2. Under Then, click on Record, select Take P hot o.
3. Under Record, checkmark Then Name It and give your video a name. (Let’s call it
“TheCrew”.) Also, checkmark the Then Email It to button and type the recipient’s
email address. (Say, unclefred@evolution.com.)
4. Click ER1’s Run it button and start smiling.
5. In one minute ER1 should take a picture, name it “TheCrew,” attach it to an email and
send it to Uncle Fred.
6. Save the behavior and then click on Open to get a new, blank behavior set.
Send an email if ER1 hears a loud sound while you are away
1. Under If on a blank behavior tab, checkmark Sound and select a volume level from
the Level checkboxes (volume increases from left to right).
2. Under Then, click on Message Send and type the email address you use at work in
the To field.
3. On the Subject line type, “Loud Noise”.
4. In the Body field, type, “Oh Nancy, I heard a loud noise at home.”
5. Click on the Behavior Settings button in the upper right of the screen.
6. Click on the Run tab and checkmark the box labeled Let behavior run more than
once.
7. Click on the Ok button.
8. Click ER1’s Run it button and walk out the door.
9. Whenever ER1 hears a loud noise, it will send you an email letting you know.
10. Save the behavior and then click on Open to get a new, blank behavior set.
Important Note: Experiment a bit to get a feeling for what level to set the volume
sensitivity.
