2. Under Then, click on Record, select Shoot Video and select how many seconds of
video you want ER1 to shoot. (Let’s say 15 seconds).
3. Under Record, checkmark Then Name It and give your video a name. (Let’s call it
“Party”.) Also, checkmark the Then Email It to button and type the recipient’s email
address. (Say,
sickbuddy@evolution.com.)
4. Click ER1’s Run it button and party away.
5. At 4:00 P.M. ER1 should take 15 seconds of video, name the video “Party,” attach it
to an email and send it to your sick buddy.
6. Save the behavior and then click on Open to get a new, blank behavior set.
Medium
Teach the ER1 to dance and entertain your friends
1. Under If, on the Behavior 1 tab, checkmark Sound and type “dance” in the Listen for
field.
2. Under Then, checkmark Move, select Distance or Angle, then in This Amount select
enter 45 and select Degrees. Then in This Direction, select Right.
3. Click on the Behavior Settings button in the upper right of the screen.
4. Click on the Run tab and checkmark the box labeled Let behavior run more than
once.
5. Click on the Apply to all behaviors button.
6. Click on the Ok button.
7. Click on the Behavior 2 tab, checkmark Sequence, and select Behavior 1. (This
means Behavior 2 will run immediately after Behavior 1.)
8. Under Then, checkmark Move, select Distance or Angle, then in This Amount
select enter 1 and select Feet. Then in This Direction, select Backward.
9. Click on the Behavior 3 tab, checkmark Sequence, select Behavior 2 and under
Move, describe another movement you want the robot to make, just as you did in the
previous step.
10. Continue programming Behavior tabs, one per movement, until you are done.
Remember to use the Sequence option to link each behavior to the previous behavior.
11. When you are finished, position ER1 so it has room to move, then click the Run it
button.
12. Whenever someone says “dance” clearly so ER1 can hear, ER1 should dance away.
13. Save the behavior and then click on Open to get a new, blank behavior set.
