8. Save the behavior and then click on Open to get a new, blank behavior set.
Take a photograph of anyone who says “Hello, robot” at a party
1. Under If on a blank behavior tab, checkmark Sound and type “Hello, robot” in the
Listen for field.
2. Under Then, click on Record, select Take P hot o.
3. Click on the Behavior Settings button in the upper right of the screen.
4. Click on the Run tab and checkmark the box labeled Let behavior run more than
once.
5. Click on the Video tab and make sure the Add sequence number to each video is set.
6. Click on the Ok button.
7. Click ER1’s Run it button.
8. Whenever someone says “Hello, robot” clearly so ER1 can hear, ER1 should take a
picture, which it will save in the ER1 folder at
c:\Program Files\ER1.
9. Save the behavior and then click on Open to get a new, blank behavior set.
Remind your guest holding a beer not to drink and drive
1. First, teach ER1 to recognize various brands of beer you will be serving. To do so,
checkmark Sight under If, then:
• Hold up a beer to ER1’s camera (a plain background is helpful).
• Click on the Capture button.
•In the Capture Object dialog box, give the picture a name and indicate the
approximate distance it was from the camera.
• Click on the Ok button in the Capture Object dialog box.
• Repeat these steps for each beer.
2. Next, from the Object option in Sight, under If on a blank behavior tab, select one of
the beer images you just saved.
3. Under Then, checkmark Play a Sound and type, “Please do not drink and drive” into
the Phrase to Speak field.
4. Click on the Behavior Settings button in the upper right of the screen.
5. Click on the Run tab and checkmark the box labeled Let behavior run more than
once.
6. Click on the Ok button.
7. Repeat steps 2-6 for each beer picture, selecting a new Behavior tab for each object.
8. When you are done, position ER1 so it can watch your guests.
9. Click on ER1’s Run it button.
