4.11.3 Recovery method
General method
ThermwareoftheIIDToolhasanalgorithmtorecoveranECUfollowingafailedupdate.Thisispar-
ticularly useful when the ECU no longer answers diagnostic commands. In such cases, the IIDTool
detects this condition and will activate the recovery method. Just follow the instructions on screen and
when the message “Toggle Fuse” is displayed, disconnect and reconnect the fuse that powers the
ECU. The tool detects the fuse insertion and starts the update automatically.

Notes App : Once started, the re-ashing process is independent from the App and is only handled
by the IIDTool. The App is only used to display the current status and can be left in the background,
foreground or closed. If the mobile device gets disconnected from the IIDTool, the App will recover
automatically once reconnected to the IIDTool.
