Glossary
ECU : Electronic Control Unit. An ECU is an embedded system that controls one or more systems or
subsystems present in a motor vehicle.
EAS:ElectronicAirSuspension.Thisdenesallcomponentsoftheairsuspensionsystemincluding
the electronic control unit or ECU.
CAN : For Controller Area Network, is a communication protocol which connects ECU’s via a two wires
interface.
Vehiclecontrolmodulesoftwareupdates(Re-Flashing):TheactionofprogramminganECUrmware.
ThetermashingcomesfromthefactthatmicrocontrollersusedinECU’saremadewithashmemory.
VIN:VehicleIdenticationNumber.It’sauniquecodewhichincludesinformationaboutthevehicle’s
congurationanditsserialnumber.
DTC : For Diagnostic Trouble Code or fault code.
