4.3 Function “ Faults

4.3.1 Sub-Function “ Read Faults
Denition
This diagnostic function gives access to the list of currently stored faults in covered ECUs. It helps,
following the reading, to identify the source of the problem.
Important : IIOnly“Conrmed”faultsareshownbythisfunction(Faultnotionsection 3.1).
App. The app allows changing and saving the type of faults displayed by default. See section 4.3.4 for
more details.
II Access
TheIIDToolo󰀨erstworeadingoptions:
Individually interrogate an ECU to view its
fault list.
Or
See the list of all ECUs having at least one
fault stored.
The “ Select ECU ” option
1-Perform the initial stages of general access
to functions (section 4.1.3)
2-Select “ Read Faults ”
3-Select the “ Select ECU ” option
4-Navigate through ECUs available using
commands
5-Select the desired ECU with command
6-Wait while reading faults occurs. If no fault is
detected for the selected ECU, the message
“No Fault Stored” appears and it will auto-
matically return to the menu “Select (ECU).”
The “ Scan ECUs ” option
1-Perform the initial stages of general access
to functions (section 4.1.3)
2-Select “ Read Faults ”
3-Selectthe“Scanandlter”option
4-Wait while the scan is performed. Only
ECUs having at least one fault appear in the
resulting list.
5-Navigate through ECUs available using
commands
6-Select the desired ECU with command
