8-84 Section 8-5 - Back End Parts Replacement
8-5-12-5 BEP2 - ECG Module Removal Procedure
NOTE: BEP2 refers to a Pentium 4-based BEP (newer type).
1) Disconnect the mains AC power cable for the mains power wall outlet.
2) Remove the Vivid 3N left and right side covers - refer to the 8-2-2-3 "Side Covers Removal
Procedure" on page 8-4.
3.) Remove the Vivid 3N rear cover - refer to the 8-2-4-3 "Rear Cover Removal Procedure" on page 8-

4) Disconnect all cables from the rear of the BEP.
5) Remove the BEP from the machine as described 8-5-1 "Back End Processor Replacement
Procedure" on page 8-57.
6) Remove both BEP side covers as described in 8-5-3-3 "BEP2 - Side Cover Removal Procedure"
on page 8-64.
7) Remove the BEP front cover as described in 8-5-3-5 "BEP2 - Front Cover Removal Procedure" on
page 8-65. A left view of the exposed BEP showing the location of the ECG module is seen
in.Figure 8-71 below:
8) Remove the four screws that secure the ECG Module in position (two from each side of the exposed
BEP as shown in Figure 8-72 "ECG Module Removal- BEP2" on page 8-85).
