Xenon Ultra 196X Series User Guide 85
Presentation Mode
Presentation Mode uses ambient light and scanner illumination to detect
barcodes. When in Presentation Mode, the LEDs remain dim until a barcode is
presented to the scanner, then the aimer turns on and the LEDs turn up to read the
code. If the light level in the room is not high enough, Presentation Mode may not
work properly.
Note: If you are using an USB base in Presentation Mode, the battery will not charge unless
the power supply is plugged into the base’s auxiliary power port.
Scan the following barcode to program your scanner for Presentation Mode.
Camera Motion Presentation Mode
Camera Motion Presentation Mode uses the camera sensor to detect when an
object is in the scanner’s field of view while the scanner is in a magnetic stand.
When Off, the scanner will return to Object Detection Mode using infrared (IR).
Default = Off.
Object Detection Mode
Object Detection Mode uses an infrared (IR) beam to detect when an object is in
the scanner’s field of view. When an object is detected, the scanner attempts to
scan the barcode. Scan the Short Range code for a target that’s approximately
3 inches (8cm) away. Or, scan the Mid Range code for a target that’s approximately
6 inches (15cm) away. Default = Object Detection - Short Range.
