4. Locate the #10–32 1/2–inch flathead and #10–32 5/8 truss head screws from the rack mounting
hardware kit contents.
a. Start at rack positions 3 and 4.
b. On one front vertical post, insert the rail hangers of the front rail bracket into the top and
bottom positions of the 2U section of post.
c. Install one #10–32 1/2–inch flathead screw into the bracket slot slightly offset from center.
Do not tighten the screw completely.
d. In the rear of the rack, keeping the rail level, insert the rail hanger into the rear vertical post.
e. Push the bracket to the outside of the rack until snug.
f. Install two #10–32 5/8–inch truss head screws into the top and bottom positions of the rear
rail bracket. Tighten the screws.
g. In the front of the rack, push the bracket to the outside of the rack until snug. Tighten the
screw in the front rail bracket.
h. Tighten the flathead screws connecting the front and rear rail brackets.
i. Repeat this procedure on the other side of the rack, and for each enclosure to be added.
CAUTION:
Lifting and positioning a disk array enclosure requires two people. If you are installing disk
array enclosures alone, use a mechanical lift or some other device on which to rest the
enclosure.
