1. Connect one end of a USB connector to the USB port on the node. Connect the other end to the
USB/Ethernet adapter. Connect a 1 meter Ethernet cable to the adapter, then connect the Ethernet
cable to port 1 of Switch 251024.
Secure the USB/Ethernet adapter to the upper left inside rack brace.
2. If installing more than one node, start with node 0 and work upwards repeating this procedure.
Connect the Ethernet cables sequentially, working right from port 1 on switch 251024.
Secure additional Ethernet cables to the upper left inside rack brace.
3. Connect a 1 meter Ethernet cable from NIC 2 on the node to port 1 of Ethernet Switch 281024G.
4. If installing more than one node, connect Ethernet cables from NIC 2 of each node, starting with
node 0 and working up. Working sequentially, connect the other end of the Ethernet cables to
ports 2 through 4 on Ethernet Switch 281024G.
IMPORTANT:
Do not touch the Fibre Channel cable tips.
Do not secure Fibre Channel cable with cable ties.
5. Connect a Fibre Channel cable from Fibre Channel port 3 on the node to Fibre Channel switch
#1, port 0.
6. For multi-node setups, repeat step 5 for each secondary node, working sequentially from left to
right on Fibre Channel switch #1.
7. Connect a Fibre Channel cable from Fibre Channel port 4 on the node to Fibre Channel switch
#2, Fibre Channel port 0.
8. For multi-node setups, repeat step 7 for each secondary node, working sequentially from left to
right on Fibre Channel switch #2.
9. Using Velcro, secure the cables connected in steps 3 through 8 to the left side of the rack.
10. Install loopback plugs on the nodes in any unused Fibre Channel ports.
