Specifications of the system unit
The system unit of your computer has six bays (bays are
locations for drives) and seven adapter card slots. You
may want to purchase a drive to install in any empty bay
or an adapter card to install in any empty slot.
You can install industry standard architecture (ISA)
advanced technology (AT) adapter cards, and peripheral
component interconnect (PCI) adapter cards. You can
install an AT adapter card in any AT adapter card
connector. You can install a PCI adapter card in any PCI
adapter card connector.
Diskette drives use the standard diskette advanced tech-
nology (AT) interface. Hard disks use an integrated drive
electronics (IDE) AT interface. Your computer supports
the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) stan-
dard for AT attachment disk drives.
Bay 1. This bay can hold a 3.5-inch slim drive, such as a
diskette or tape drive.
Bay 2. This bay can hold up to a 5.25 inch half high
drive, such as a diskette, tape, or CD-ROM drive.
Bay 3. This bay can hold up to a 5.25-inch half high
drive, such as a diskette, tape, or CD-ROM drive.
Bay 4. This bay can hold up to a 3.5-inch half high
drive, such as a diskette or tape drive.
Bay 5. This bay can hold a 3.5-inch slim hard disk.

Bay 6. This bay can hold up to a 3.5-inch slim hard disk.

Power supply. Capable of providing at least 145 watts
of power to the system unit.
Adapter card slots. Eight openings for a maximum of
seven openings for adapter cards.
AT adapter card connector 1 (AT – 1). Holds AT
adapter cards.
AT adapter card connector 2 (AT – 2). Holds AT
adapter cards.
PCI adapter card connector 1 (PCI – 1). Holds PCI
adapter cards.
PCI adapter card connector 2 (PCI – 2). Holds PCI
adapter cards.
AT adapter card connector 3 (AT – 3). Holds AT
adapter cards.
AT adapter card connectors 4 - 6 (AT – 4 - 6). Holds
AT adapter cards.
Riser card. Holds the adapter card connectors.
