6.9 MACHINING CHANGE - QUICK GUIDE
The purpose of this section is to provide the operator with a quick guide to the operations
required for machining type change (either with or without guide channel change-over). The
relevant information is contained in the sections below.
6.9.1 Machining type change with guide channel change
• Select the diameter of the guide channels according to the bar to be machined (section
"SETUP ACCORDING TO THE BAR T BE MACHINED", CH. 5).
• Replace the guide channels, the half bushes, the bar pusher and the collet (section "GUIDE
CHANNELS, HALF BUSHES, BAR PUSHER AND COLLET - REPLACEMENT", CH. 5).
- remove the bar pusher and the first feeding carriage;
- remove the lower guide channels first and then the upper guide channels;
- remove the bar pusher support;
- remove the front nose;
- remove the half bushes;
- if necessary, remove the lathe spindle liner;
- install a new set of parts by reversing the order of the above operations;
- mount a collet suitable for the "new" bar in the bar pusher;
- insert the bar pusher in the guide channels;
- adjust the intermediate gate position;
• Replace clamps if necessary (section "CLAMPS - REPLACEMENT", CH. 5).
• Adjust the bar guide plates and bar selectors (section "BAR GUIDE PLATES AND BAR
SELECTORS - ADJUSTMENT", CH. 5).
• Introduce the bar in the guide channels and adjust the clamps.
• Check all the machining parameters on the keyboard.
• Prepare the lathe for a new machining cycle.
• Start the automatic working cycle (section "AUTOMATIC CYCLE START", CH. 6).
