Chapter 17 — Troubleshooting
Input buffer on host overfl ow.
- The input buffer should normally be handled by the software of the
host. Increase the receive buffer in the printer to a large value, restart
the host to empty its input buffer and try again.
No response from printer a custom-made program is run (Fingerprint
only).
- The verbosity can be controlled using the Fingerprint instructions
VERBON/VERBOFF and SYSVAR(18). In the Intermec Direct Pro-
tocol, verbosity is disabled by default. Check the program for instruc-
tions that affect the verbosity.
- Verify that the correct communication port is selected as standard
IN/OUT channel.
Interface type mismatch (Fingerprint only).
- A communication cable is connected to a port confi gured for another
type of serial interface; for example an RS-232 cable is connected to
an RS-422 port. In the Setup Mode, the type of interface for which
the interface board is confi gured is indicated for each communication
port ("uart2:" to "uart5:"), see Appendix A.
