6. From the Keyscan NETCOM Utility screen, select the Keyscan Hyper Terminal button.
7. In the Open Comm Port Selection screen, select the COM port on the PC laptop connected with the access
control board.
8. Set the baud rate to match S1.2 on the access control board: either 57,600 or 115,200.
9. Select the Open Port button.
10. With the Hyper Terminal screen open, it is currently blank, momentarily switch S1.1 off and then switch it
back on. Within 15 seconds, press and hold the c (lower case or upper case) on the keyboard until the
Hyper Terminal menu opens. If the menu starts to scroll, release the “c” and wait until the menu has
stabilized before going to the next step.
11. From the HyperTerminal menu, select 1) Set Primary IP Address.
12. Enter the IP address of the host’s router, end point, or PC/server with the Keyscan reverse network
communication application depending on the network setup.
If you make a typing error, do not use the backspace key. Press the Enter key and repeat steps 11 &
12.
Ensure the correct IP address format is used with periods separating appropriate digits as shown in
the example 192.168.100.12
13. Press the Enter key.
14. Verify the correct IP address has been programmed by selecting: 3) Display IP Setting.
15. Do one of the following:
If the IP address is correct go to the next step.
If the IP address is incorrect, repeat steps 11 to 14.
16. Select 5) Set Port Number. Enter the port number of the host router, end point or the PC/server with the
Keyscan reverse network communication application depending on the network setup. You will also have
to enter this same port number when programming the on-board Ethernet module in the next set of
procedures.
If port number 00 is entered, the CA150 unit resets the port number to 3001 by default.
17. As an option, you can set a secondary IP address as outlined below:
To set a secondary IP address, select 2) Set Secondary IP Address and enter the secondary IP
address. You must have entered a primary IP address; otherwise, the secondary address will not be
used if the primary address is non-existent.
18. Select 9) Exit.
19. Close HyperTerminal.
20. Keep the serial programming cable wires connected to the RS-232 terminal block on the control board and
go to Program the CA150 On-board Ethernet Module.
Program the CA150 On-board Ethernet Module
Before proceeding, this assumes that you have continued from Set IP Address on Access Control Board and
that the control board is powered and connected via the serial data cable to the PC/laptop with the NETCOM
Program Utility.
1. Set the system configuration DIP switches S1.10 and S1.11 to the on position.
2. Reset the CA150 control board by momentarily shorting system reset jumper J6.
3. Select start > All Programs > Keyscan NETCOM Program Tool and select Keyscan NETCOM Program Tool.
