speed and duplex setting. As an example, CA150 = 100 Mbit/Half Duplex Network equipment =
100Mbit/Half Duplex.
14. The Discovery Port 77FE is disabled by default. Keyscan recommends that you leave it on the default
setting. This function is principally for troubleshooting communication difficulties.
If you de-select the Disable Discovery Port 77FE function (the box does not have a check mark) the
Discover NETCOM Devices function will list the device by its MAC address and IP address if it is
located on the network.
15. Ensure the No Encryption radio button is selected. It has a dot in the centre when selected.
16. Click on the Program CA150 Rev. B button.
17. From the Program CA150 Rev. B Device via Serial Connection warning box, click on the OK button.
18. Momentarily place a jumper on J6 to reset the unit, or re-cycle the power. Wait while the Ethernet module
is programmed.
19. When prompted by the NETCOM utility, disconnect the data serial cable from the RS-232 terminal on the
CA150.
20. Set DIP switch S1.11 to the off position.
Ensure DIP switch S1.10 is on so the board is set for network communication.
21. Reset the CA150 control board by momentarily shorting system reset jumper J6.
22. If the PC/laptop has a network connection, verify network communication with the CA150’s Ethernet
module by selecting the Start PING button on the Keyscan NETCOM Utility screen.
If the PC/laptop does not have a network connection, close the NETCOM Program Utility, complete
any remaining connections for permanent operation, re-locate to a PC with a network connection and
ping the NETCOM2’s IP address using the command prompt. The average round trip times should be
less than 100 milliseconds and the packets sent should equal the packets received with 0% loss.
Continue to the last step.
23. Wait for the ping status result message:
IP Success indicates the Ethernet module has network communication
IP Timed Out indicates the Ethernet module does not have network communicationverify settings
and connections
24. Close the NETCOM Program Utility.
