1-5-4 Drum section
(1) Detaching and refitting the drum unit
Follow the procedure below to replace the drum unit.
Cautions
Avoid direct sunlight or strong light when detaching and refitting the drum unit.
Never touch the drum surface when holding the drum unit.
Procedure
1. Open the front cover and left cover. Remove
the waste toner box and toner container.
2. Remove the screw holding the developing
release lever.
3. Pull the developing release lever and
release the developing unit.

4. Remove the screw and the connector and
then remove the drum unit.
5. Replace the drum unit and refit all the
removed parts.
6. when the periodic maintenance, perform
maintenance mode U251 (clearing the
maintenance count) (see page 1-3-44).
