Toremovetheservercover,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginsinthebeginofthisdocumentation.
Step2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables,
ifnecessary.
Step3.Iftheserverhasbeeninstalledinarack,loosenthetwothumbscrewsonthefrontoftheserverand
removetheserveroutoftherackenclosure;then,placeitonaflat,static-protectivesurface.
Note:Whenyoudisconnectthepowersourcefromtheserver,youlosetheabilitytoviewtheLEDs
becausetheLEDsarenotlitwhenthepowersourceisremoved.Beforeyoudisconnectthepower
source,makeanoteofwhichLEDsarelit,includingtheLEDsthatarelitonthefrontpanel,on
therearpanel,andLEDsinsidetheserveronthesystemboard,then,seethisdocumentationfor
informationabouthowtosolvetheproblem.
Step4.Pressdownfirmlyonthebluetabonthetopofthecover(ontherightsidenearthefrontofthe
server)andslidethecovertowardtherearoftheserveruntilthecoverhasdisengagedfrom
thechassis.

Step5.Liftthecoverofftheserverandsetitaside.
Attention:Forpropercoolingandairflow,replacetheservercoverbeforeyouturnontheserver.
Replacingthecover
Usethisinformationtoreplacethecover.
Makesurethatallcables,adapters,andotherservercomponentsareinstalledandseatedcorrectlyand
thatyouhavenotleftloosetoolsorpartsinsidetheserver.Also,makesurethatallinternalcablesare
correctlyrouted.
Important:Beforeyouslidethecoverforward,makesurethatallthetabsonthefront,rear,andsideof
thecoverengagethechassiscorrectly.Ifallthetabsdonotengagethechassiscorrectly,itwillbevery
difficulttoremovethecoverlater.
