2.Makesurethattheservertopcoverisinplaceandfullyclosed.
Attention:Tomaintainpropersystemcooling,donotoperatetheserverformorethan10minutes
withouteitheradriveorfillerpanelinstalledineachbay.
3.Installtheharddiskdriveinthehot-swapbay:
•Makesurethatthedrivetrayhandleisopen(asshownintheillustration).
•Removethefillerpanelfromthebay.
•Alignthedriveassemblywiththeguiderailsinthebay.
•Gentlypushthedriveassemblyintothebayuntilthedrivestops.
•Pushthetrayhandletotheclosed(locked)position.
•ChecktheharddiskdrivestatusLEDtomakesurethattheharddiskdriveisoperatingcorrectly.If
theyellowharddiskdrivestatusLEDforadriveislitcontinuously,thatdriveisfaultyandmustbe
replaced.IfthegreenharddiskdriveactivityLEDisflashing,thedriveisbeingaccessed.
Ifyouhaveotherdevicestoinstall,dosonow.Otherwise,goto“Completingtheinstallation”onpage54.

InstallinganoptionalDVDdrive
UsethisinformationtoinstallaDVDdrive
Ifyouarereplacingaremoveddrivewithanewdrive,makesurethat:
•Youhaveallthecablesandotherequipmentthatarespecifiedinthedocumentationthatcomeswiththe
newdrive.
•Youhavecheckedtheinstructionsthatcomewiththenewdrivetodeterminewhetheryoumustset
anyswitchesorjumpersinthedrive.
