2.Donotallowthethermalgreasetocomeincontactwithanything,andkeepeachheat
sinkpairedwithitsmicroprocessorforreinstallation.Contactwithanysurfacecan
compromisethethermalgreaseandthemicroprocessorsocket.Amismatchbetweenthe
microprocessoranditsoriginalheatsinkcanrequiretheinstallationofanewheatsink.

Step6.Removethescrewsthatsecurethesystemboardtothechassis,andputthescrewsinasafeplace.
Step7.Liftupthesystemboardandcarefullyremoveitfromtheserver,beingcarefulnottodamageany

Ifyouareinstructedtoreturntheservercomponentoroptionaldevice,followallpackaginginstructions,
anduseanypackagingmaterialsforshippingthataresuppliedtoyou.
Attention:Makesuretoplacethesocketcoverforthemicroprocessorsocketonthesystemboardbefore
returningthesystemboard.
Replacingthesystemboard
Usethisinformationtoreplacethesystemboard.
Notes:
1.Whenyoureassemblethecomponentsintheserver,besuretorouteallcablescarefullysothattheyare
notexposedtoexcessivepressure.
2.Whenyoureplacethesystemboard,youmusteitherupdatetheserverwiththelatestfirmwareor
restorethepre-existingfirmwarefromadisketteorCDimage.Makesurethatyouhavethelatest
firmwareoracopyofthepre-existingfirmwarebeforeyouproceed.See“Updatingthefirmware”on

3.Whenyoureplacethesystemboard,makesurethatyouremovetheIntegratedManagementModule

Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Toreplacethesystemboard,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthesystemboardtoanyunpaintedmetalsurface
ontheserver;then,removethesystemboardfromthepackage.
Step2.Alignthesystemboardwiththechassisandreplacetheninescrewsthatyouremoved.
