Note:Beforeyouinstalloptionalhardware,makesurethattheserverisworkingcorrectly.Starttheserver,
andmakesurethattheoperatingsystemstarts,ifanoperatingsystemisinstalled,orthata19990305
errorcodeisdisplayed,indicatingthatanoperatingsystemwasnotfoundbuttheserverisotherwise
workingcorrectly.
Toremovetheservercover,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginsinthebeginofthisdocumentation.
Step2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables,
ifnecessary.
Step3.Iftheserverhasbeeninstalledinarack,loosenthetwothumbscrewsonthefrontoftheserverand
removetheserveroutoftherackenclosure;then,placeitonaflat,static-protectivesurface.
Note:Whenyoudisconnectthepowersourcefromtheserver,youlosetheabilitytoviewtheLEDs
becausetheLEDsarenotlitwhenthepowersourceisremoved.Beforeyoudisconnectthepower
source,makeanoteofwhichLEDsarelit,includingtheLEDsthatarelitonthefrontpanel,on
therearpanel,andLEDsinsidetheserveronthesystemboard,then,seethisdocumentationfor
informationabouthowtosolvetheproblem.
Step4.Pressdownfirmlyonthebluetabonthetopofthecover(ontherightsidenearthefrontofthe
server)andslidethecovertowardtherearoftheserveruntilthecoverhasdisengagedfrom
thechassis.
